Schwartze sign:

1. Aka Flemingo's pink sign

2. It is a clinical indicator linked to otosclerosis.

3. What it looks like: Reddish discoloration seen through the tympanic membrane (eardrum), especially over the cochlear promontory.

4. Cause: The reddish hue results from increased vascularity in the area, indicating active bone remodeling (otospongiosis), which is characteristic of the active phase of otosclerosis.
