First-rank symptoms of schizophrenia

The first-rank symptoms of schizophrenia include:

 

• Auditory hallucinations-

1. Hearing thoughts spoken aloud

2. Hearing voices referring to himself / herself, made in the third person

3. Auditory hallucinations in the form of a commentary

 

• Thought withdrawal, insertion and broadcasting (PYQ: UPSC CMS 2024)

• Somatic passivity- 
It refers to the experience where the individual believes that their bodily sensations, actions, or movements are being controlled or influenced by an external force.

• Delusional perception

• Feelings or actions experienced as made or influenced by external agents
