Aortic sinus


Anterior / Right aortic sinus- 
• Right coronary artery arise

 

Posterior aortic sinus- 

1. Right posterior aortic sinus / Posterior aortic sinus - Torus aorticus

2. Left posterior aortic sinus / Left aortic sinus - Left coronary artery arise

 

NOTE :

1. Right coronary artery arise from anterior coronary sinus.

2. Left coronary artery arise from left posterior aortic sinus.

Aortic

sinus

• It’s a dilation or widening of ascending aorta

located just above aortic valve.

 

• Right & left coronary arteries are originate from

aortic sinus, and supplying blood to heart muscle.

Coronary

sinus

It’s a vein that collects deoxygenated blood from

the heart muscle and delivers it to the right atrium

of the heart.

Carotid

sinus 

A small dilation in the carotid artery that contains

baroreceptors (sense pressure changes), helping

regulate blood pressure by detecting changes 

in stretch.

Cavernous

sinus

It’s a venous sinus in the skull, located on either side

of the pituitary gland, housing important structures

and playing a role in draining blood from the brain.
